Our Greek chapters play an important role for undergraduate students and as such are supported through the staff in the Greek Life Office. The purpose of the Greek Life Office (GLO), located in room 150 of the Danforth University Center , is to provide “one-stop-shopping” for students involved in fraternity/sorority life. Because of the University's commitment to the Greek experience, the GLO has been charged with the responsibility of establishing supportive and collaborative relationships with Greek leaders and members. The services provided through the GLO include chapter advising, event planning, leadership development, risk reduction and management, recruitment guidance, personal responsibility, academic guidance, and community service. The GLO also oversees the building management and living contracts for the 10 on-campus fraternity houses.
Along with the support mentioned above, the Greek Life Office has expectations of Greek chapters, Greek members, and even non-affiliated students. As such, various guidelines and policies – consistent with fraternal and university values – outline these expectations for membership eligibility, social events, pledging, appropriate conduct, and academic progress, to name a few. It is every student's responsibility to be knowledgeable of these expectations and guidelines that are annually distributed to Greek leaders and are available in the GLO.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity (SAE) is not recognized, sponsored or endorsed by Washington University in St. Louis. SAE lost the privileges of a recognized University organization summer of 2007.
